Job Description
Job Summary:
- Primary function: For various real estate properties and associated legal entities, maintain general ledger by accurately recording daily transactions and produce monthly financial statements.
- Secondary function: Provide back-up support to Property Manager in responding to tenant issues and questions.
Job Duties:
- For real estate investments of owners:
- Record cash and non-cash transactions, posting them to various General Ledger accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide review and analysis of General Ledger accounts.
- Post and audit month-end and year-end journal entries, including year-end allocations from properties to legal entity level.
- Produce monthly balance sheet and income statements, and reconcile reports to mortgage/bank statements and depreciation/amortization schedules.
- Prepare tenant billings, and post cash receipts.
- Monitor accounts payable invoices, and disbursement and 1099 processes.
- Assist with tenant collections and responding to tenant issues and questions.
- Assume additional responsibilities and special projects as needed.
Experience:
Required
- 5 -7 years experience producing financial statements, recording general ledger transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable and 1099’s required
- Accounts payable processing required
- Intermediate excel skills required
- Ability to work independently and manage time to meet monthly deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred
- Bachelor/Associate degree preferred
- Yardi software experience preferred
- Property management experience preferred
