****WFH/Office Hybrid Work Opportunity****
We are a professional services firm that specializes in outsourced bookkeeping, accounting, tax preparation, CFO, and M&A services. Due to our rapid growth, we are seeking a Staff Accountant that preferably has experience with QuickBooks Online and preparation of personal and business tax returns to join our team. Ideal candidate will be working towards or interested in getting a master’s degree and/or CPA designation.
Overall job description:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for a portfolio of our clients and will be the primary contact with the client regarding accounting and bookkeeping issues. You will be responsible for the quality and timeliness of client deliverables.
Job responsibilities:
- Review bank and credit card reconciliations for accuracy
- Review client's financials at month-end for bookkeeping accuracy and reasonableness.
- Verify standardization of bookkeeping protocols across all clients that you manage.
- Book monthly journal entries, calculate accruals and perform other bookkeeping responsibilities.
- Act as the accounting contact for our clients.
- Maintain customer closing schedules and assure deadlines are being met
- Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
- Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual sales tax filings
- Assist in various projects as necessary
Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 2+ years of accounting experience preferred, ideally in a CPA firm or multiple small businesses
- 1+ years of QuickBooks Online, preferred
Other requirements:
- Personable, ability to effectively communicate with entrepreneurial clients.
- Team player-- ability to get along with others, take and give feedback to the team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple clients and self-prioritize workloads
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
Compensation and Benefits
· Total first year compensation package up to $75,000 plus bonus
o Base salary $55,000 - $70,000
o Master’s Degree tuition reimbursement up to $15,000/year
o CPA expense reimbursement (exam fees and test prep materials)
o Annual bonus up to $11,000
· Health benefits
· 401K match up to 4%
· 20 days earned PTO – carryover 5 unused (potential to use 25 in calendar year)
