Bookkeeper

Advantage Built is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. Advantage is a local home builder that creates award-winning custom, move-in ready new construction homes in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids corridor.

Job Details

Advantage discourages the ‘it’s not my job’ mentality and encourages employees to ‘work outside the box’. Because of this, duties and responsibilities are subject to change pending time of year and demands of other areas. The Bookkeeper holds the following Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a positive customer service focus at all times, greeting customers and subcontractors upon their arrival.
• Demonstrate teamwork in all interactions with coworkers.

Accounts Payable

• Efficiently process all company invoices.
• Accurately complete monthly job draws.
• Reconcile all credit card statements.
• Reconcile all vendor account statements.
• Investigate and ensure the correction of all balancing discrepancies for vendor accounts.
• Create lien waivers for all job payments. Accurately track lien waiver receipts.
• Maintain Subcontractor and Vendor Contracts, W9s, and Certificates of Insurance.

Accounts Receivable

• Process accounts receivables and incoming payments.
• Prepare bills receivable, invoices, and bank deposits.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledgers to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Verify discrepancies and resolve client’s billing issues.

Qualifications

The Bookkeeper should have the following qualifications:

• Excellent client and internal communication skills.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Solid organization skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Quickbooks.

Required Experience and Training

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or closely related field.
• Minimum of 2 years accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Quickbooks Desktop and Online Versions.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

This is an office based position that will require you to work on-site Monday-Friday in Iowa City, IA. A competitive compensation and benefits package is included, the starting salary range is $55,000 - $65,000.
