Bookkeeper
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Bookkeeper
Department: Finance & Administration
Reports To: VP of Finance
Summary:
Bookkeeper will assist with daily, weekly, and monthly finance duties including deposits, donation tracking, accounts payable and receivable, mortgage servicing, retail financial support, audit preparation, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and other projects as assigned.
Qualified candidates must have a strong accounting foundation, be organized, pay close attention to detail, and be able successfully to multi-task. This is a full-time, hourly position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
▪ Enter deposits of cash, checks, and ACH’s into QuickBooks daily
▪ Enter / create invoices for accounts receivable
▪ Enter invoices for accounts payable into QuickBooks and assist with processing of checks
▪ Collect receipts and reconcile credit card statements monthly
▪ Reconcile bank accounts to the general ledger monthly
▪ Reconcile balance sheet accounts to the general ledger monthly
▪ Assist in management of invoices and payables online via BillPay
▪ Assist in building and analyzing reports specific to the construction costs of ongoing projects
▪ Monitor expenses to help create efficiencies and cost savings
▪ Track and process grant reimbursements
▪ Assist with preparation of records for year-end audit by independent audit firm
▪ Assist with preparation of 1099’s and other tax compliance
▪ Assist with filing business licenses in a timely manner
▪ Assist with the management of grants including government and private sector funds and ensure that all reports are filed in a timely manner
Qualifications
▪ Relevant Accounting / bookkeeping experience
▪ Hands on experience with QuickBooks
▪ Highly skilled in Microsoft Applications including Excel, Word and Office
▪ Self-starter with ability to remain organized, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
▪ Maintain confidential information
▪ Ability to handle a fast paced, changing environment
▪ Maintain positive attitude, exhibit ethics and values of Greater Birmingham Habitat for
Humanity
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
