The BIM Coordinator works with sheet metal, plumbing and piping for commercial installation projects. Must have common knowledge of HVAC and Plumbing. This position requires the experience and expertise to judge and ensure the quality of work, as well as provide technical assistance and meet schedule expectations. Rogers Mechanical Contractors LLC. ("RMC","Company") BIM Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an open, positive, and professional line of communication with customers, vendors, general contractors, internal customers, and trade partners. - Review and provide complete prefab/preassembly and site logistics visualization and conceptual scenarios mitigating clash risks throughout project lifecycle(s).
- Ensure production processes are in line with project schedules.
- Provide technical assistance through assessment, the use of industry technologies and techniques ensuring work is free of defects and conforms to set specifications.
- Work closely with BIM Lead and Design Leads to ensure the project's compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
- Works with BIM Lead, Design Leads and Engineers to develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, component details from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
- Understand BIM modeling process and able to manage all BIM related activities from project start up to project completion.
- Review each drawing for readability, presentation, and adherence to standards, in accordance with company QA/QC process.
- Good knowledge in content creation and able to create different types of parametric and non-parametric families.
- Strong knowledge in LOD requirements.
- Collaborate and communicate with other disciplines on coordination issues and model development tasks.
- Good knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks, with experience of clash detection and producing clash report.
- Able to produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Responsible for running projects to meet specifications required including producing technical drawings and models.
- Presenting your designs and making amends based on feedback or prototype testing.
- Keep up to date with all RMC Policy and Procedures, industry standards and RMC Safety protocols.
- Designing technical solutions for buildings and other structures.
- Ensuring plans are accurate and easy to interpret.
