The ideal candidate will be responsible for review and execution of all LTC nursing home client and insurance billing, be able to understand and accurately work all Medicare part A census reports and client-due invoices monthly.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a background in medical billing, and be excited by the prospect of learning more about LTC billing. Responsibilities will include:
- Experience as a Billing Specialist in the long-term care space
- Knowledge in Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, HMOs, and hospice billing
- Knowledge in verifying sources for payer eligibility under Part B
- Knowledge in posting Medicare part A ancillaries to client accounts
- Knowledge of state and federal nursing home guidelines
- Ability to multi-task & prioritize independently while working with a team to meet required deadlines in a busy environment
- Engage with clients and assist in conducting billing business reviews as necessary, virtually or physically
- Be an integral part of contributing to key performance metrics for timely and accurate billing
- Quality check documented activities related to the billing practice in Long Term Care as a subject matter expert
- Ensure claims are billed accurately and timely
- Escalate any issues or concerns identified in a timely manner to the Billing Manager
- Communicate with payors and customers to request payments
- Maintain strictest confidentiality
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
- Other duties as assigned
SPECIFICATIONS:
- Must have 2–3-years experience in payer denials
- Knowledge in medical or billing collection/practices is a must
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and other computer-based programs
- Proficient communication skills (written and verbal) and typing skills (55+WPM)
- Dedicated follow-up and good client relation/customer service skills are a must
- Adhere to the LTC standard operating process (SOP) to be successful
- Ability to work in a fast-paced professional office environment; must have an excellent, “can-do” attitude
- A keen eye for detail and organization
