Position Summary
The Bridgewater Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a Billing Coordinator. Provides support to the Executive Director with day to day aspects of billing; coding; and collections with external billing partner, as well as special projects. Assumes responsibility for serving as the liaison for BASC with the billing partner as it relates to revenue optimization. Will work in a direct customer service role to support patients and family members relative to billing needs.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Serves as the primary liaison with the external billing partner who performs all coding. Billing, and collections for Bridgewater Ambulatory Surgery Center. Insurance responsibilities to include eligibility and prior authorizations for efficient reimbursement and processing of billing as required. Interacts with external billing partner as it relates to requirements for billing and coding as a result of a payer inquiry or denial.
Interacts with patients relating to patient liabilities and/or billing questions.
Communicates with Finance on month end closing processes
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience Required: 2 years’ experience in medical office, hospital surgical procedure billing/coding
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required:
Knowledge of computers. Medical terminology. Excellent communication skills, detail oriented, multi-tasking. Knowledge of Medicare rules and other payer requirements.
