Job description

Position: Billing Coordinator

Part-Time, Temporary to Perm, Estimated 20 Hours Per Week

Compensation Type: Hourly

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Finance

Location: Middlesex NJ - Office

Role Summary / Purpose

Ensure the company's construction contracts are billed and paid. Performs highly responsible administrative duties in collaboration with various customers to ensure all construction contracts are billed, with appropriate supporting documentation. Implements goals and objectives as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Review billings for reasonableness
  • Test billings for mathematical accuracy
  • Prepare billings in specified format
  • Prepare lien releases
  • Prepare summary of amounts earned, billed and collected to support final (retention) billings
  • File duplicate copies of billings and lien releases
  • File photocopies of checks received
  • Maintain job billing files
  • Respond to inquiries regarding billings
  • Special Tasks as requested / required / as assigned

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of MS office with strong Excel skills
  • 2+ years of experience with the administration of a Construction Company

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.

Desired Characteristics

  • 5 years Experience in the Construction Industry
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Viewpoint Spectrum ERP System
  • Knowledge of Textura and or Procor Billing Systems
