Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Billing Coordinator (BC) will oversee the billing operations, coordinate with direct service staff to ensure accuracy of billing statements, and correspond with third party Billing service to reconcile payments and resolve any billing-related issues. This is part-time, non-exempt up to 30 hours per week, 8:30 am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
· Reviews billing sheets, verifies insurance coverage, determines required documentation necessary to process claims and submits all to Contracted Billing provider for completion of claims to Medicaid, Trillium, Private Insurances, NC Child Medical Evaluation Program (CMEP), and NC Crime Victims Compensation (CVC) Program on a timely basis.
· Monitors unpaid claims and reviews with third party Billing service on continual basis.
· Maintains records of claims filed, downloads remittance statements of claims paid per bank deposits, post receipts and deposits to QuickBooks.
· Assist in the credentialing of providers with Medicaid and private insurance companies, and the maintenance of MCO/PHP’s provider rosters.
· Maintains and monitors credentialing records on all licensed employees.
· Stays informed regarding changes in Medicaid and CMEP policies and procedures.
· Updates forms as necessary and distributes to users.
· Assist FM with specific aspects of the annual audit.
· Performs other accounting related duties as required.
