About the RoleWe're in search of a motivated Billing Coordinator to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, this founding role presents the unique opportunity to establish the billing practices at our flagship dental clinic. Nestled in the heart of iconic Tribeca, NY, our modern office serves as a canvas for creativity and collaboration. This is an in person role, based in New York City.
Responsibilities- Preparing and submitting claims for payment by health insurance
- Communicating any co-payments due or gaps in coverage by patients' health insurance
- Communicating with health insurance providers to determine patients' benefits, as required
- Determining why claims have been rejected and implementing corrective measures
- Ensuring unpaid and partially paid claims are resolved in an efficient and timely manner
- Follows up on submitted claims, monitors unpaid claims and resubmits claims with appropriate corrections and documentation
- Monitors and ensures that collections, net, gross and days in accounts receivable targets are met
- Responds to patient and third party inquiries; researches and resolves simple to moderately complex issues; corrects errors and refers complex issues to supervisor
- Reviews correspondence and rejection data from insurance carriers; posts rejections and performs reconciliations
- 2 years of experience in a healthcare billing role
- Proficient in medical terminology, including knowledge of DRG codes
- Familiarity with insurance policies, claims processing, and reimbursement procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail Oriented & Extremely Organized
- Ability to work independently & as part of a team
- Experience working in a tech enabled company a plus

Pay, Perks & Benefits at AeliaThe target salary range for this position is: $55-65k. Individual compensation for this role will depend on a variety of factors including qualifications, skills and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our competitive benefits plans.
