We are seeking a skilled Dental Specialist to join our team. As a Dental Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. Your expertise in medical coding, medical billing, and medical records will be essential in providing accurate and efficient administrative support.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze dental patient records to ensure accurate documentation and coding
- Assign appropriate ICD-9 or ICD-10 codes to dental procedures for billing purposes
- Collaborate with dental providers to ensure proper documentation of patient diagnoses and treatment plans
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims for dental services rendered
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental coding guidelines and regulations
- Assist with the management of patient records, including filing, organizing, and retrieving information as needed
- Collaborate with the billing department to resolve any coding or billing discrepancies
- Provide support in maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare laws
Experience:
- Dentrix is a must
- Previous experience working in a medical office or dental setting is required
- Proficiency in medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10), and dental procedure codes (DRG)
- Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance claim submission
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and dental practice management software
