--Job Description--
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Utilize medical terminology and coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 to assign appropriate codes for billing purposes
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies or denials
- Collaborate with medical office staff to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries
---Requirements---
- Previous experience in medical billing or a related field
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
- Familiarity with medical office software systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is a plus
- Experience in medical collections is a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
