The HealthLab Billing Services Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The HealthLab Billing Services Coordinator has primary responsibility for development and implementation of programs relating to excellent customer service. In addition, the position develops personal business relationships and helps in the transition from a competitive lab to CDH/HealthLab.

Responsibilities:

• Perform virtual training for clients either via Teams or phone calls.
• Introduce clients to client billing in HealthLab.
• Includes statement review, billing change requests, medical necessity faxes, etc. How to make corrections to statements.
• Introduce insurance billing.
• Discuss requirements for Medicare and Medicaid with regards to providers needing to be enrolled in order to order/bill for those patients through HealthLab.
• Be a contact for new clients with regards to follow up questions.
• Discuss medical necessity forms and proper execution of ABNs.
• Explain diagnosis (DX) change form and requirements needed to properly credit client’s account.
• Use claim edit work queues in Epic as a guide to begin training with those clients that have patients in these work queues.
• Continuous education of sales and service as point of contact with regards to billing processes or questions.

Required:

• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Epic experience.
• Bachelor's degree or four years of direct lab billing experience.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of insurance billing on UB04 and 1500 claims for labs.
• Knowledge of insurance payers.
• Knowledge of client billing/invoicing for labs
