Billing and Insurance Compliance Officer is to make sure the company adheres to the requirements of any related regulations, standards, laws and policies. He or she reviews and assesses all existing and new regulatory changes, as well as the company’s own internal policies and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage an effective compliance program.
- Develop and review company policies.
- Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
- Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
- Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
- Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
- Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes.
- Resolve employee concerns about compliance.
- Monitors coding and medical record documentation compliance with federal and state regulations. Educates clinical staff and providers on compliant coding for maximum revenue.
- Conducts prospective and retrospective compliance documentation audits. Designs audit tools and methodology for conducting audits. Tracks and trends results of audits. Prepares and presents reports on results.
- Identifies trends in billing, coding and documentation errors and recommends corrective action plans. Monitors implementation of corrective action plans.
- Analyzes billing processes to identify potential billing risks and/or revenue opportunities.
- Attends billing workshops and seminars and keeps abreast of billing policies and procedures. Develops training materials
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
Be well versed in the on-boarding and credentialing of new radiologist
Maintain all records for the company as it relates to all licenses and certifications
Maintain records of all employees professional licenses insuring that all are up to date and posted in the proper facility.
Requirements:
- Minimum of A.S. degree in law, finance, business management, or a related field.
- 3 – 5 years’ proven experience in a Compliance Officer role.
- Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures.
- Brilliant oral and written communication skills.
- Highly-analytical with strong attention to detail.
