Hours: 9:00- 5:00 PM
Educational Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be a licensed Medical Assistant (CMA or AAMA)
- Associates degree is preferred, but not required
- Experience Requirements
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
Other Requirements
- Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
- Must have strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation.
- Strong communication skills are a must.
Job Description and Responsibilities. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated and efficient in their work. Regular attendance is mandatory; the manager must approve any absences, and frequent absences without prior notice will be grounds for termination.
- Medical assistant will check in patients and room them.
- Answering the phones in a timely manner and retrieving voice messages.
- Scheduling appointments and follow-ups using our EHR system.
- Confirming patient appointments prior to their arrival.
- Verifying patient insurance and billing information and collecting co-pays up front.
- Calling in patient prescriptions at their preferred pharmacies.
- Other related tasks as specified by the practice manager.
