Job Description
We are searching for an experienced, energetic BILINGUAL DERMATOLOGY MEDICAL ASSISTANT to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our growing practice running efficiently. The most successful candidate will love working with patients and have experience working within a Dermatology or cosmetic practice setting. You will be asked to float and assist at both locations.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in all clinical aspects of medical/cosmetic dermatology.
- Assist in skin surgery, vein surgery, and other office-based care procedures.
- Record patient data into our very user-friendly EMR system during each physician visit, including but not limited to: medical history, allergies, and medications.
- Document/scribe office visit notes and pertinent information for the physician to complete the medical notes.
- Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physician.
- Assure appropriate consent has been obtained prior to treatment or procedures.
- Conduct patient assessments and obtain pertinent medical information for referrals for the physician.
- Direct patients from reception to exam rooms or the next appropriate area, i.e., treatment rooms, check-out, etc.
- Serve as a patient advocate during patient exam and treatment
- Prepare and stock exam rooms, order supplies as needed and maintain/control office samples/medical supplies.
- Assist physicians with exam and procedures as requested.
- Perform lab procedures and processing of lab specimens as needed. File all labs and outside reports accurately and as needed.
- Maintain all exam room w/ current disinfection and office protocols.
- Assist physician with common dermatology procedures.
- Practice Standard Precautions, including hand washing and disposal of bio hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean work environment and restock work areas as needed.
- Under supervision of physician, give results of pathology, radiology, laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
- Thoroughly and accurately document the delivery of care, including physician orders.
- Document relevant material into the medical record for physician to review and sign.
- Under the supervision of the physician, relay provider assessment and treatment plan to patient or designated family member.
- Assist with any other staff/team member as requested or needed by the physicians, nurses, Office Managers.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual is a must as we are a bilingual office.
- Two (2) + years’ experience in a medical practice setting preferred.
- High school degree or GED
- Certified as a Medical Assistant by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of EZ DERM a plus.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Displays excellent customer service skills and open to retail product sales and knowledge.
- Must be an organized, detailed and work well independently or on a team.
- Dermatology and Venous surgical experience a plus.
