Beverage Manager
The Beverage Manager will oversee Saluhall’s bar operations and other bartenders' work to ensure that they provide positive customer experience, ensure the smooth running of our bars, and should also be skilled in serving and training on alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Along with managing Saluhall’s coffee and tea programs, the Beverage Manager will oversee 3 bars throughout Saluhall:
- Our first floor bar captures the spirit of lagom by focusing on our core range of beers and wine alongside six low and no-alcohol cocktails.
- On the second floor, we will offer experiences inspired by America’s rich history of cocktails and fruit punches, and punsch, the traditional Swedish liqueur. Here we use the garden of California as our guide to create delicious cocktails with seasonal fruits.
- Also on the second floor, we will offer a wood-paneled sanctuary for conversation by day, and a beautiful drinking den by night. Expect great mixologists serving classic cocktails with a twist.
Essential Job Functions
- Administer purchasing and receiving procedures.
- Analyze alcoholic beverage business.
- Analyze service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct staff performance assessment.
- Contribute to innovation process within own scope of work in the business unit.
- Identify and establish internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Implement loss/risk prevention.
- Manage compliance with food and beverage hygiene policies and procedures.
- Manage cost and quality controls.
- Manage food and beverage operations.
- Manage site/outlet and equipment maintenance.
- Manage training.
- Teach, train and prepare cocktails and mocktails.
- Prepare molecular mixology beverages.
- Leads weekly inventory counts and ensures weekly vendor orders are made and properly received
- Negotiates best price and rebates on all non-Food & Beverage products
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:
- Banqueting and Private Events
- Develop an open culture of communication, both formal and informal
- A cheerful, positive attitude when working with a variety of people, and be able to work well under pressure
- Strong communication skills with supervisors and team members
Required
- At least 5-7 years of prior high-volume, multi-unit or above Hospitality experience
- Basic computer skills including Google Suite, Slack, MS Office and Lightspeed POS
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to lead and mentor a team.
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Local to the San Francisco area, no relocation is provided for this role
- Bilingual language skills (English/Spanish) are preferred
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderated and controlled by facility environmental systems
- Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period of time
- Able to lift up to 25lbs. and on a regular and continuing basis
- Able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, twist, walk, crouch, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks
- Manual dexterity required to use and operate all necessary equipment
- Talking, hearing and seeing (vision) occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, Supervisors and other Employees
- Has an open and flexible availability as schedules may change based on business demand
