SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting in the administration of the benefits program, which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability. Additionally, the latter part of the job entails managing all Human Resources activities. These activities encompass, but are not limited to, employment and employee relations for the company. The role also involves providing advice and assistance on company policies, procedures, and documentation, as well as facilitating the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural inquiries and problems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
* Assists with new-hire orientations.
* Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
* Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
* Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
* Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
* Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
* Assists with the open enrollment process.
* Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
* Assists with the administration of company-wide Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
* Responsible for all human resource activities which include employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and development.
* Interviews job applicants; reviews applications/resumes; evaluates applicant skills, and makes recommendations regarding applicants' qualifications.
* Coordinates the hiring process, which includes conducting background and reference checks, issuing job offer letters, and other internal communication.
* Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
* Coordinates and/or conducts employee-relations activities and programs including, but not limited to, employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs.
* Coordinates programs to attract qualified candidates through the design and placement of position announcements, advertising, and/or participation in job fairs.
* Develops and maintain relationship with employment agencies, universities and other recruitment sources.
* Administers and explains POM’s compensation and benefits programs to employees; serve as liaison between employees and insurance carriers.
* Documents Human Resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
* Coordinates the resolution of specific POM policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries.
* Recommends, develops and maintains human resource data bases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.
* Develops and recommends operating policy and procedural improvements.
* Conducts exit interviews with employees; communicates findings to management.
* Responds to inquiries regarding the organization’s processes, policies, procedures, and programs.
* Conducts ongoing information and training sessions to develop employees and provide support and problem resolution.
* Coordinates distribution/communication of projects including but not limited to Employee Policy handbook, 401(k) open enrollment, and employee recognition.
* Identifies potential employee-relations issues and makes recommendations to management.
* Occasional payroll duties coverage. Training provided if needed.
* Conducts investigations into claims of harassment or other company-guideline violations.
* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent, two to four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
· Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
· Experience in recruiting and staffing.
· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
· Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
· Proficient on Microsoft Office Suite
· Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
· Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
· Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.

· ADP Payroll processing is desirable
· Bilingual skills a plus.
