The Job in a Nutshell:
The Benefits and Payroll Analyst functions as an analytics expert within the Benefits and Payroll Department. This position will evaluate and analyze benefit/payroll plans and programs, while ensuring systems are set up to function as necessary and data is transferred to outside vendors timely and accurately. This position is hybrid on-site and requires a minimum of 2 days working from the SSC Lakewood office.
Responsibilities:Main Ingredients:
- Works with the Benefits team on administering benefit plans to include plan set up and monitoring, HRIS updates and uploads, carrier updates and uploads, data integrity, enrollments, terminations/COBRA, 401(k) administration, and billing.
- Assists with annual Open Enrollments including tracking enrollments, compiling, and auditing data feed files, working with vendors to ensure data accuracy and timely uploads/benefit card distribution.
- Maintains PPACA records, including the annual creation of 1095-C and 1094-C forms in HRIS.
- Review and reconcile monthly benefit enrollments with invoices to ensure accuracy and timely payment processing.
- Complete Paid Time Off reconciliation each pay date to ensure balances are reflected correctly. This process also includes reporting to the accounting team for posting tax accrual purposes.
- Assist with payroll cash and tax account reconciliations.

Recipe for Success:
- College degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience with Benefits and Payroll
- Ability to work with external customers, vendors, etc.
- Dayforce experience preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong analytical, data analysis, and reporting skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent customer service and communication skills - accurate and courteous service to employees and management
- Ability to think critically, solve complex problems.
