FlexStaff is seeking a Benefits Administrator for our client located in downtown Manhattan!
The Benefits Administrator will hold responsibility for the administration of all health benefits, including medical, dental, life insurance, short term and long-term disability, FSA, COBRA, and related plans as well as Leaves of Absence requests and accommodations, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and state and local leave laws. Some specific duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Obtaining and maintaining current knowledge of all applicable benefits and leaves of absence related laws including the FMLA, PFL, DBL, ADA, etc.
- Expeditiously responding to all benefit related inquiries from employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, leaves of absence and benefit status changes.
- Collaborating with Leaves of Absence vendor to oversee leaves of absence requests and disability payments.
- Interpreting FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences and disabilities.
- Supporting employees regarding leave requests and ensuring that employees are aware of their responsibilities and any documentation required.
- Ensuring the interactive process is initiated when applicable.
- Collaborating with broker and vendors to develop, update, and distribute all benefit and leave of absence materials, including annual open enrollment.
- Performing data integrity, compliance audits of benefits and leave of absence data and invoice reconciliation.
- Collaborating with HRIS team to provide benefits and leave of absence reports/metrics.
- Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all benefit enrollments and file feed transmission to vendors.
- Conducting monthly new hire benefits orientation.
- Championing, coordinating and leading monthly wellness activities and events.
- Performing ACA administration including monthly review, yearly set up and yearly reporting.
- Managing and administering 403(b) bi-weekly deduction & monthly reconciliation and tracking for status changes.
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
- A thorough working knowledge of leave requirements and other legal protections under FMLA, PFL, ADA and other applicable laws, including the interactive process.
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience administering benefits and managing leaves.
- A bachelor's degree in HR or other related disciplines. CEBS certification a plus.
