Job Responsibilities Including but not limited to:
- The Behavioral Health Therapist 1 assesses and diagnoses mental health and/or substance use disorders through a bio/psycho/social department specific and evidenced based assessment; and will integrate assessments using information related to cultural, clinical, ethnic, age and other factors into the plan of care.
- Provides a range of therapeutic interventions, psycho-educational programming and behavioral interventions (when indicated) to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan.
- Provides care coordination to ensure the patient and family receive and are subsequently referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment/intervention outcomes.
- May participate in inpatient and community psychoeducational programs, facilitate support groups for specified disease processes related to mental health, medical diagnosis, chronic or life-limited illnesses while assisting with community outreach.
- Provides documentation and performs administrative functions appropriate to the role, adhering to Inova Health System's Culture of Safety and participates in maintaining a professional culture throughout the organization.
Requirements for consideration:
- 0 years of experience plus an i nternship in mental health or substance use disorder treatment
- M asters degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in mental health, social work, counseling, psychology, or Behavioral Health-related field
- BLS Certification by the American Heart Association within 3 months of hire CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification within 6 months of hire
