Behavioral Health Front Office

Friends of Family Health Center (FOFHC) is seeking a Front Office Assistant for its Behavioral Health Department (BH). As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the BH Department. You will support doctors, therapists, other front and back office staff, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility
• Organize and schedule appointments
• Greet and assist patients
• Float departments as needed
• Assist the Providers (Psychiatrists and Therapists) in their work, as needed
• Update and file medical records and insurance reports
• Document in electronic health record, as needed
• Assist during medical examinations/sessions
• Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year Front Office medical experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures (EPIC experience preferred)
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
