BCYF Hennigan Community Center objective is to provide career opportunities for youth and young adults that provide potential for career development. In addition to hiring youth we will be provide a positive and safe environment for youth to experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Junior Counselor Position: Support lead teacher in organizing and implementing program activities, workshops, and helping students with homework Actively engaging in all activities with students (arts & crafts, sports, board games, etc). Supervise students during activities, ensuring their safety and adherence to program rules and guidelines. Cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of class room, equipment, gym and building. Other duties assigned. Front Desk /Building Assistant Position: Teen employees will greet community members who enter the building, answer phones and transfer calls, and provide basic information about BCYF memberships, hours, etc. Teens will also learn to give simple tours of the facility to interested visitors.Will assist with inputting data, filing/ maintaining office cleanliness All teen staff will assist with light cleaning/sweeping to help keep spaces welcoming and tidy. Other duties assigned. Gym Assistant: Teen staff will help to plan and lead gym activities with youth, and may coach younger children or work the scoreboard during practice or games. At times teen staff will serve as a monitor in the gym including interacting with youth in the gym. Maintain an adequate supply of cups and water in recreation area. All teen staff will assist with light cleaning/sweeping to help keep spaces welcoming and tidy. Other duties assigned

Júnior Counselor - Enjoys working with children - Communication and problem solving skills - Familiarity with after school activities (sports, arts & crafts, swimming, board games, gym games, etc) follows directions/highly motivated. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Front Desk /Building Assistant Position: Strong organizational/communication skills, ability to multitask, pleasant & courteous answering phone calls Familiar with computers and phones - follows directions/highly motivated, interest in learning new skills and abilities related to others - Attention to detail - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community Gym Assistant: Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community interest/Knowledgeable of sports/athletics. Professional attitude, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of gymnasium equipment follow instructions.
