Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Maintain complete knowledge of service requirements for assigned function
- Detailed menu selections, major ingredients, appearance, texture, quality standards, garnish and method of presentation.
- Knowledge of particular characteristics/description of wines/champagne ordered.
- Knowledge of prices for specified bar selections on cash bars.
- Knowledge of station assignment and table set-up.
- Knowledge of group name, type of function and expected attendance.
- Knowledge of scheduled hours of service.
- Knowledge of special requests/arrangements.
- Knowledge of order of service, traffic flow in room.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
- Efficiently complete pre-function side work
- Greet guests as they arrive and assist them with seating at tables.
- Serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverage items to the guest in accordance with function requirements.
- Clear each course following procedures.
- Remove all tabletop items, linen and equipment from the function room as designated by function requirements.
- Set up, monitor, refresh and breakdown coffee breaks, receptions and buffet tables for specified functions according to group requirements.
- Efficiently complete closing side duties
- Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
- Fellow maintenance program and cleaning schedule.
- Handle all beverage needs as specified in contract
- Complete required Appraisals
- Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day.
- Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
- Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
- Availability during peak operating times, ie: Weekends, Holidays and Special Events
- Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
- Understand company's emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
- Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
- Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary

- Comply with all Southern Management's policies and procedures
- Perform various other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
Skills Required
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
- Knowledge of various food service styles (i.e., French service, Russian service, Family style service, Butler style service).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 75lbs or more
- Ability to stand and walk for full length of assigned shift (8 or more hours)

Requirements:
- 1 year experience as a Restaurant or Banquet food server
- Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
- High School Diploma or equivalent required

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
