Onco Filtration is developing technologies for the extraction of Circulating Tumor Cells from whole blood. Onco Filtration has made significant breakthroughs in capturing CTCs at scale, which will profoundly change the landscape of early cancer detection, providing groundbreaking insights into the mechanisms of early metastasis and will strengthen the oncologist’s arsenal with new tools. We are a fast-paced startup aiming to emerge commercially Q2 2024. A candidate that joins Onco Filtration will have the opportunity to address known limitations in the treatment of cancer today and will make cutting edge discoveries leading to significant improvements to patient’s lives.
About the Position
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments to develop robust and scalable processes for clinical cancer detection laboratory tests.
- Process (i.e., DAB, Papanicolaou stain), image, analyze, and report experimental results in a timely fashion.
- Process human blood samples for R&D and clinical studies.
- Assist in the design and implementation of multiplex IHC panels.
- Maintain and expand multiple cell lines.
- Frequently collaborate with team members in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Maintain detailed experimental notes in the lab’s electronic lab notebook (e.g., Benchling) and up-to-date sample registries.
- Create and implement general laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Develop protocols for ICC / IHC of clinical samples.
- Communicate with vendors, procure lab supplies, and maintain equipment as needed.
- Ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks, and troubleshoot when needed.
Desired Education, Experience, and Abilities
- Degree in biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology or similar program.
- PhD or Master’s with 3+ years of experience in industry or related field.
- Bachelor’s with 6+ years of experience in industry or related field.
- Experience in clinical research and/or working in a CLIA-regulated environment.
- Experience with assays that utilize histology and IHC stains.
- Experience with brightfield and fluorescence imaging.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
