Ten Pin Entertainment Mechanic Job Description & Duties
Mechanics ensure our lanes, pinspotters. pinsetters, and other building equipment are working properly during league and open play. You will also perform routine maintenance and making emergency repairs when necessary. Our mechanics will also learn and follow the front desk procedures as well, as they will assist here when necessary. Friendliness and great Customer Service in house, and on the phone, will make our patrons feel welcome and want to come back. You will be actively assisting our guests by following up on inquiries in a timely manner. You are the face of the bowling center, you are who they come to for needs while they are there. Must be able to work fast and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, but also able to manage time efficiently when slow. Consider every guest an asset, as their experience may determine if they will come back to our establishment. Will need to show a positive attitude and treat others with respect and behave in a manner that productive and encourages teamwork at all times.
· Follow and maintain all safety procedures
· Keep machine equipment and bowling center in proper working order
· Assist with preventative maintenance programs
· Clean and organize the machine equipment room
· Assist in the repair and maintenance of the bowling center
· Greet customers with enthusiasm
· Provide Customer Service so the customer feels welcome
· Assign lanes, hand out shoes (clean, sanitize shoes upon return)
· Ask if they need assistance putting names in the computer
· Ring sales at the counter using POS system and follow cash control procedures
· Understand how to operate the POS system, fix scoring issues, and what to call to mechanics
· Prepare for leagues by stripping and oiling lanes
· Clean approaches and gutters
· Be available to assist guests with basic bowling instructions if asked
· Watch patrons and look for things such as underage drinking, sneaking in food/beverage/alcohol
· Communicate with all team members with what is going on in the center
· Keep work area clean and organized
· Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of bowling center and restrooms (including picking up trash and wiping tables down between patrons
· Accept payment in form of cash or charge from customers
· Balance cash receipts to record sales
· Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, as well as extended work days to support business needs
· Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, including cross-training
Requirements:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Desire to learn and grow
Great Customer Service and communication skills
Work a minimum of 2 shifts
Display high initiative, be self-motivated, and require minimal supervision
Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
Reliable transportation
Standing/walking on tile floors and carpet for long periods of time
Repetitive motions of bending, kneeling, stooping and twisting
Cash handling experience – possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle and count money
Must be able to work nights (up to midnight) and weekends
