AVP, Marketing and Communications

This role is responsible for coordinating company communication, branding, social media management, media relations and other storytelling functions. This position will develop and convey effective messages to key stakeholders about our services, culture, and corporate activities. This position will also improve and maintain online reputation of the brand, communicate marketing intelligence trends, identify marketing communication needs, and assist with events/sponsorships.

This role will also assist in the development and implementation of a progressive external communications strategy to strengthen and protect the company reputation and advance the Fortitude Re brand identity across key external stakeholder audiences.

What You Will Do:

• Assist in re-branding efforts, content development to support the new brand and Communications efforts to effectively promote the brand.

• Develop and own corporate social media strategy, bringing innovative thinking and industry-leading practices to our strategy.

• Serve as the company's storyteller; includes collaborating with company stakeholders to research, compose, and communicate messages/information to internal and external audiences using print, digital, and social media platforms.

• Assist with engaging, cultivating and managing media relationships to ensure appropriate coverage of Fortitude Re strategies, programs, special events, and public announcements.

• Assist in the development and management of the corporate strategic marketing plan.

• Work with outside vendors, including marketing, public relations, and website design firms.

• Coordinate the selection, acquisition, and distribution of Marketing and promotional materials.

• Work with IT on the company website and the company intranet portal to ensure clear and accurate information.

• Advance personal and professional development through job related education, networking, and research.

• Collaborates with VP, Marketing and Communications to support the organization's participation in external events, including key conferences, community, civic, social, and educational events.

• Write and edit press releases, web pages, external executive speeches, scripts, emails, and other business communications.

• Assist in keeping management informed about industry news and developments that may affect the organization.

• Supports departmental communications functions.

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What You Will Have:

• At least five years' experience in marketing, communications, branding, social media, and external media relations.

• Understanding of or experience with Marketing and communication within the financial services or insurance industries preferred.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.

• Design experience with collateral materials design software, i.e. Adobe Suite, etc, preferred.

• Excellent written and oral communications and project management skills required.

• Working knowledge of social media platforms including LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

• Ability to handle multiple projects and effectively manage time required.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across different departments required.

• Ability and willingness to sometimes travel to the multiple office sites of the Company, including occasional overnights, required.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Undergraduate degree required or equivalent experience.
