Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Assembly Verification Integration EngineeringTechnical Expert with deep knowledge and experience in end-of-line manufacturing processes including plant IT interfaces, Global Test System (GTS), AVG Flash and Test applications, and end-of-line hardware.
The Assembly Verification Integration Engineering team is within the Manufacturing Engineering – Electrical Department, Assembly Verification Group. The department is responsible for processing and testing the electrical systems of vehicles within our assembly plants. The Assembly Verification group is responsible for test development and test integration. All tests are performed using serial data communication to all the vehicles' electronic control units.
Due to the wide scope of work, this position will have high visibility across General Motors through product design groups, program launch teams, assembly manufacturing and quality organizations. The integration team is a dynamic group, and this position will be challenging.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Collaborating with product engineering and IT plant infrastructure.
Support Global Expert Team Meetings.
Assist with development of AVIE team members.
Assist the AVG team with issue resolution process.
Driving continuous Improvements in the organization.
Collaborating with AVIEs in other regions.
Model and foster GM's Core Values and Winning Behaviors.
Fostering an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.
Maintain very close working relationships with AVFEs, AVDE, AVG hardware & systems engineers, all AVIEs.
Lead development and Improvements with many end-of-line processes and applications including Deviator, Station Information, GTS, SPD, etc.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science
8 years of experience as an AVIE
Overall vehicle electrical system experience
Vehicle electrical sub-systems experience (engine controls, ABS, air bag, body controllers)
Automotive assembly plant operations
GM quality systems
GM vehicle development process
Familiarity with VIP architecture (i.e., ISO 14229, Cybersecurity, Ethernet)
Ability to read CAN/Ethernet log files
Manufacturing Engineering experience
Electrical engineering experience
Excellent multi-functional communication and leadership skills – able to get multiple teams moving in the same direction
Demonstrated ability to “Deal with Ambiguity” while driving timely decision making
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
8 Years of experience in the following areas:
Technical understanding of current and future GM Electrical Architectures, data file release processes, and software programming processes
Expert with current end-of-line hardware (GBVI, MPPTT, Roll Test Machine, Alignment Equipment) and the interfaces to the hardware
Expert with current end-of-line system interfaces (GTS, Deviator, Station Information, etc)
Expert understanding of Manufacturing Engineer Reporting System (MERS)
Expert with product release processes (CASH, 3PD, etc)
Expert with end-of-line application (Flash and Test)
Expert with Final Line production processes related to vehicle programming and diagnostic testing.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and achieve substantial influence without administrative authority
Familiar with production processes related to vehicle programming and diagnostic testing
Expert Knowledge of Software tracking systems
Strong understanding of Manufacturing Engineer Reporting System (MERS)
Travel maybe required
