QUALIFICATIONS:
- MA DESE License as Principal/Assistant Principal (K-6)as well as Elementary Teacher or related field
- Masters Degree or higher
- Minimum of five years of teaching experience preferred, preferably at the elementary level
- Experience in an administrative role is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in technology
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Special Education

Responsibilities:
- Assist the principal in the leadership, coordination, supervision, and management of the school and operations.
- Provide leadership and expertise in the areas of curriculum development, implementation of instruction, and completion of routine administration.
- Collaborate with educators to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of teachers and other staff members, including support staff.
- Assist in organizing school governance/assign duties to staff.
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of professional and support staff.
- Hire and organize the schedule, train, and supervise paraprofessionals in concert with the principal.
- Assist the principal in the master building scheduling.
- Maintain a positive and safe school culture by implementing school-wide PBIS and behavioral interventions.
- Administer school policies related to student conduct and discipline.
- Maintain data collection system to fulfill state reporting requirements concerning suspension, bullying, and student safety.
- Assume responsibility for coordinating safety drills with the Safety Officer and First Responders. Provide support in implementing and preparing the districts emergency procedures.
- Organize, facilitate, and attend school events during the school day and after school.
- Organizational, management, and leadership skills
- Lead and collaborate with teachers and other school administrators, including Department Directors.
- Manage employees, including teachers, paraeducators, substitutes and all other support staff.
- Facilitate and coordinate instructional activities and support teaching staff.
- Foster open and effective communication with families regarding curriculum, student progress, and school initiatives.
- Support the principal in the collaborative development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of the Schools Improvement Plan.
- Contribute to a wide range of school and district initiatives.
- Support district-wide goals and initiatives.
- Coordinate all elementary curriculum testing.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned by the principal.
