The Role
We are seeking a Vehicle Flash Programming Application Technical Expert with deep experience in manufacturing processes and methods for programming vehicles and their electronic control systems to join our exceptional team here at GM! In this role you will be responsible to develop and communicate the requirements needed to flash program vehicles and electronic control modules in the vehicle assembly plants as well as create, develop and maintain the manufacturing Flash Programming Application, architecture and standards to be used by the flash development engineers to program vehicle electronic control modules in the assembly plants.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Lead/Participate in Flash Programming Approval and Change Review Board.
Lead/Participate in the Vehicle Assembly Programming Board (VAPB).
Lead development and validation of functionality for manufacturing Flash Programming Applications.
Lead Global Manufacturing Flash Programming Expert Team.
Maintain global flash application, common parameters and supporting documentation.
Provide regular daily technical leadership to program assigned manufacturing Flash Programming engineers.
Lead the technical growth of all team members through training and support.
Provide support and expertise for issue resolution for all global GM plants.
Validate boot and software changes made to global components to identify the impacts to the manufacturing flash process.
Identify opportunities to optimize and reduce flash cycle time during Manufacturing.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science,
8+ years of experience in the following areas:
Manufacturing vehicle Flash Programming processes.
Software development using C, C++; debugging and troubleshooting.
Diagnostic serial data protocols such as CAN (ISO15765), UDS (ISO14229), and DoIP (ISO13400).
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and vehicle electrical architectures.
Familiar with GTS test environment; global AVG processes and standardized work.
High level of interpersonal skills.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Strong technical understanding of Industry standards related to automotive diagnostics.
Familiar with production processes related to vehicle programming and diagnostic testing.
Strong technical understanding of current and future GM Electrical Architectures, data file release processes, and software programming processes.
Direct experience and demonstrated proficiency for managing the rollout and adoption of topics that impact designs owned by numerous stakeholder engineering organizations.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and achieve substantial influence without administrative authority.
Demonstrated ability to lead global initiatives that comprehend and adapt to meet unique regional needs while maximizing core reuse and commonality.
Understanding of Service Programming Systems.
Familiarity with product release processes (CASH, 3PD, etc).
