Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

The expected compensation range for this position is $134,692 - $164,623, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.). The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As an Automotive Key Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Growing sales at the General Motors Key Account as well as account relationships at all levels including direct interface with Design, Development, Validation and Quality Engineering as well as Program Management located in Michigan and other locations as required.
- Providing onsite support at General Motors Technical Center in Warren, MI a minimum of three days per week and serve as the initial point of contact for all support, problem solving, and specification of 3M products. Provide support at other North American locations or assembly plants as needed.
- Developing applications and advancing commercialization of new products and new product ideas for a defined product portfolio and/or segment
- Leading the creation of global design standards, material specification approvals and the global implementation of those specification approvals to grow 3M business
- Utilizing effective leadership skills and product and market knowledge to solve complex system challenges with 3M products
- Collaborating the with global Key Account team and managing opportunity pipeline with appropriate CRM tools

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Sciences (Chemistry, Applied Science, Materials Science) (completed and verified prior to start) and three (3) years of combined sales or automotive experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
-OR-
- High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years technical role experience and three (3) years combined sales or automotive experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Current, valid Driver's License.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree in business or engineering from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of Automotive Customer Facing Experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Experience with tapes and adhesives
- Knowledge of automotive component design, validation, and/or execution
- Data processing/analysis experience using Excel
- Self-motivated and very comfortable working in automotive environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proven history of responsiveness and service
- Experience with platform planning and proficiency with CRM systems
- Ability to work independently to deliver sales results yet team oriented to work within a highly matrixed internal and external organization
- Experience in long-term selling cycles to large, global, complex, multi-disciplined Key Accounts
