If you have a strong technical background and thrive in a leadership role, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.A leading Automotive Dealership in the Westchester County area needs to hire a Shop/Technical Manager with a proven track record of success, preferably with some experience as a Shop Foreman or Assistant Manager.
As the Shop/Technical Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the back-end operations of our shop. Your primary focus will be on overseeing the technical aspects of our services while also leading our team to deliver exceptional results. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for process improvement.
Responsibilities - Shop / Technical Manager:
- Responsible for the overall department production and serve as the main support for Auto Technicians
- Hire, manage and support technicians with technical knowledge
- Manage quality control as well as production and enhancement management with an emphasis on back-of-house processes
- Solve problems and meet predetermined service objectives
- Directly supervise shop technicians
- Ensure processes are in place in order to evaluate staff, workflow, and to communicate clearly with customers
- Create work schedules and maintain proper accounting of Service Technicians' productivity
- Oversees employee training and development
- Ensures a safe working environment and proper maintenance and repair of all equipment
Qualifications - Shop / Technical Manager:
- Previous experience in automotive repair and maintenance, with a strong technical background
- Proven leadership experience, ideally in a supervisory or managerial role within an automotive shop or similar environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvement
- Knowledge of industry best practices, quality control standards, and safety regulations
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems for workflow management and documentation
- Must pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, and drug screen
