Audit- Staff Accountant

Position- Staff Auditor

Location- Hybrid upon completion of in office training

Classification- Full-time, salary, exempt

Summary of Responsibilities:

As a Staff Auditor at Daniel A. Winters & Company, you will learn and apply the fundamental techniques and procedures for auditing financial statements in accordance with Auditing Standards of the AICPA. In your first year you will work on several aspects of the operating cycle of organizations and learn and apply audit theory. Software applications are all best of class.

Essential Functions: Under the direction of the firm’s professional staff, including Senior Accountants, Managers and Partners, you will work on the following:

1. Diverse and challenging assignments.

2. Assessment of client financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals

3. Conduct attestation engagements in accordance with AICPA standards.

4. Detailed analytical analysis and documentation. ;

5. Audit testing including critical assessment of compliance with applicable requirements.

6. Consulting with clients and assisting with financial reporting and disclosures

7. Preparation of electronic work papers.

8. Preparation of tax returns and regulatory filings; other facets of executing client engagements.

Additional Information

As part of your professional development you will continue your professional education through in-house training, interactive and group sessions designed by educational institutions, self-study instructional materials and on the job training as well as training through venues outside the firm, as appropriate. Your progression to more challenging assignments is only limited by your desire to advance within the firm.

Qualifications

While it is preferred candidates possess a BS or BA degree in Accounting, degrees with essentially equivalent education will be considered. While no experience is required for this entry level position, which includes training for performing the responsibilities of the position, experience with auditing and other related business experience is preferred. Strong analytical and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word 2016 versions and Microsoft Outlook 365; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; initiative, integrity and professionalism are all essential for this job. Candidates do not need to be pursuing CPA licensing.

The firm’s principal offices are in Chadds Ford, PA in the southeastern corner of Pennsylvania, between Wilmington, DE and West Chester, PA. We serve clients in various geographic locations including the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area. Because we are located outside of the city limits of Philadelphia, our employees who work in our offices are not subject to the City of Philadelphia Wage Tax when work is performed in our offices.

Supplemental pay types:
