Abacus Technology is seeking an Audio Technician to provide systems support for the eMITS program at Johnson Space Center. This is full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Design and set up a variety of audio equipment to support a wide range of event applications from conference rooms to large ballroom and auditorium type venues.
- Develop audio requirements, planning, checkout, and operational verification of equipment before deployment.
- Generate audio testing and verification checklists for validation before event operation.
- Collaborate with other Audio Technicians.
- Work with customers to assure smooth event performance.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate equipment for maintenance and repair.
Qualifications
3+ years experience in audio/visual operations and maintenance. Associate's degree in a related field. Additional work or military experience may be substituted for degree requirements. Experience with analog and digital audio equipment including wired and wireless microphones, audio mixing consoles, audio press box distribution, a/v setups, monitoring, public address amplification, sound reinforcement applications, recording and distribution, audio to internet interfacing, Teams and Zoom interfacing and includes installation and maintenance of audio systems. Knowledge and application experience of associated industry audio standards such as AES and SMPTE. Component level repair capability highly preferred. CAD/Design software experience desired, but not required. Must be a US citizen.
