The Asst. Warehouse Manager is a critical onsite leader supporting the warehouse, shipping/logistics and distribution operations for a stable and growing business in the Baytown/East Houston area. This position will be highly visible and critical in setting a standard of excellence, leading warehouse operations and modeling expectations for the team.

JOB OVERVIEW:
Dynamic Warehouse Support: You will partner closely with the Warehouse management to assist across a variety of areas including inventory control/accuracy, shipping/receiving, and other warehouse operations.
Efficiency Expert: Continuously evaluating the environment to find ways to improve warehouse operations including lean practices, optimizing workflows, safety, and quick turn-around for loading/unloading containers and pallets.
Documentation Guru: Assist in managing documentation (bill of lading, bill of materials, labels), etc., to keep operations running smoothly. You will be a conscientious link to ensuring accuracy and fulfillment in the warehouse.
Hands-on Handling: Provide hands-on involvement in loading/unloading containers, verifying products against receiving sheets and making them ready for storage or distribution.
Safety Champion: Be an active advocate for safety in our warehouse; making sure materials handling, forklifts, docks, and any hazardous materials are managed appropriately. Be a voice for safety training and have eyes on our employees to make sure they operate safely each day.
Quality Assurance: You will inspect products for quality and quantity, making sure they meet our high standards before storage or shipment.
Expert Organizer: Help us efficiently pack and stack products, utilizing the appropriate materials and pallets to ensure a safe transport of our products.
Logistics Specialist: Assist with oversight of shipping and receiving processes; maintaining accurate logs and helping optimize space utilization in our warehouse.
Equipment Custodian: Supervise and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the warehouse equipment, tools and machines.
Skills & Experience
- 5-8 years of Warehouse, Manufacturing or Distribution operations experience
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) technology
- Basic safety, PPE and OSHA knowledge and exposure
- SAP or other ERP knowledge is helpful
- Previous experience as a Lead in a Warehouse, Materials Handling, Supply Chain or Logistics role supervising other employees is helpful
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate Degree or some college education is a plus
Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000
