Job Description
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center- Cadillac Tower three times per week, at minimum.
The Sales Operations Leader has the responsibility to create the Monthly and Quarterly Global Sales Reporting reports and supporting data. The source data comes from numerous Internal and External sources and requires careful management to ensure it is accurately loaded into our reporting system. This data is shared with other entities and is a key component on conveying GMs financial performance to government entities and stakeholders.
The Sales Operations Leader is also responsible for the maintenance of our Corporate Vehicle Unit Sales Reporting Policy and Supplemental Standards for Global New Vehicle Sales Reporting. The Policy communicates our global requirements for reporting new vehicles sales. The Asst Program Manager ensures our reporting follows these guidelines and makes revisions based on any approved changes to our reporting requirements. The Standards provide clear guidelines across our global entities to ensure consistencies on how GM counts vehicle sales, data structure and other key guidelines.
The Sales Operations Leader prepares the annual attestation process. This verifies each entities compliance to the forementioned Policy and Standards or any exceptions and mitigation plans for those exceptions.
Role
Perform data management activities, including data loading, system table maintenance, and data reconciliations, within the Global Sales Reporting & Analysis (GSRA) system. This includes the following types of items:
  • Use MS Excel tools to convert received file formats into the correct system recognized format for loading into the GSRA system.
  • Modifying the GSRA system tables to make updates to such things as reporting geography, country aggregation rules and marketing group/marketing division relationships.
  • Perform data reconciliations within the data loading activities which also includes researching any data anomalies.
  • Supervise Data Analysts team members who are responsible for loading all other Global Sales data.

Creation and maintenance of monthly and quarterly Global Sales reports includes the following:
  • Create monthly/quarterly reports through both automated and manual processes. This requires intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills as well as knowledge of Cognos and the underlying GSRA system tables.
  • Maintain monthly and quarterly reporting schedules ensuring that reports are created on time and contain accurate data.
  • Ensure monthly/quarterly reports are properly audited for accuracy and obtain necessary approval prior to distribution.
  • Ensure Global Sales data and reports are maintained according to GM's retention policies.
  • Perform yearly attestation, ASMS site renewals, semi-annual user access reviews
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills to interface with GM's global Regional and Market Operations on the collection and consolidation of the GM and Competitive data in those markets. Requires flexibility in working hours for meetings with other global entities to support and/or resolve Sales Reporting issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of the position's current business processes and identify business process improvements.

Work with GM IT Innovation and Technical Support teams to provide business requirements, priorities, assess alternatives and create test plans for system break/fixes and system enhancements.
  • Identifies improvements to established processes to improve efficiencies and reduce non-value activities.
  • Perform requirements gathering and analysis for Sales Reporting system enhancements and development.
  • Develop, maintain, and conduct User Acceptance Tests for Sales Reporting system enhancements and development projects.
  • Develop and maintain training material for end users, data analysts and data suppliers.
  • Conduct formal and informal training with users on the Global Sales data and adhoc reporting.
  • Provide clear communications to the global user community regarding sales data and system availability.
  • Facilitate meetings to resolve complex issues and promote consensus on process improvements and implementation plans.

Additional Job Description
Role Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with systems and/or quantitative orientation.
  • 5 Years of experience required
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to use IBM Cognos for extracting data.
  • Above average skills in Microsoft suite of tools (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented, with strong follow through skills.
  • Understanding of Data Management techniques and concepts.
  • Ability to write user acceptance test cases and perform user acceptance testing for enhancements and development projects.
  • Ability to multi-task on different projects while maintaining daily operational tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (business and technical).
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to identify creative solutions to complex business and system process issues.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, where required.
  • Resource Planning and Time Management methods based on operational demands and priorities
  • Collaboration, presentation, and visualization across all levels of the organization, including Executive Leadership

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge or previous experience with IBM Cognos tools (Workspace Advanced).
  • Previous Sales Reporting & analysis experience.
  • Previous MS Excel VBA experience.
  • Experience with project management methods
  • Experience as a Product Management/Business Analyst
