Position Summary:

The Regional Impact team is responsible for supporting LEE Member Engagement in partnership with the LEE Member teams. This includes supporting new member registration efforts and providing a high-quality experience in the member’s first 90 days after registering. Additionally, this team supports the sustained engagement of our members which includes supporting in-person, virtual, and digital experiences that are best matched to the members interests.

The Associate, Member Engagement will support the Regional Impact team by facilitating and managing programming and events that inspire initial and sustained engagement with the LEE network and resources. This role will be assigned a portfolio of regions requiring monthly national travel to implement targeted strategies to support and increase LEE members’ engagement, leadership, and impact. The Associate reports to a senior leader on the Regional Impact team.

This role is a full-time, temporary position for up to 40 hours per week through December 2024 with a strong preference for Dallas/Fort Worth-based candidates.

Position Location: Dallas/Fort Worth

Travel Requirements: 20% - including monthly national travel for up to 10 multi-day site visits

Responsibilities:

Direct Member Engagement (In-person, virtual, and digital) (40%)

  • Implement Regional Impact team’s vision for engagement via in-person and virtual events, phone and email outreach, and digital engagement in an assigned portfolio of locations and across member segments (e.g., identity, issue interest, and current level of LEE engagement)

  • Implement engagement tactics including individual relationship meetings (1:1s), in-person and virtual facilitation of LEE content, and digital outreach

  • Partner with the Elected Leadership team to inspire and agitate members to run for elected positions

  • Collaborate with Partnerships team to implement new Member Engagement activities in a member’s first 90 days

  • Make connections for members to the best-fit LEE resources, supports, and opportunities, including electoral and policy coaching

Progress Monitoring and Adjustment (25%)

  • Maintain pulse on Member Engagement by gathering anecdotal evidence from site visits and direct connections with members and monitoring and interpreting member digital engagement data

  • Leverage data and insights to inform strategies and tactics that increase and sustain Member Engagement and support members progressing in leadership and skill-building

  • Provide feedback on LEE content to support high-touch, quality in-person and digital engagement opportunities for members

Engagement Planning and Tools (25%)

  • Utilize data and planning systems such as LEEnk (Salesforce), Tableau, Asana, and Google Sheets to understand Member Engagement data, look for trends, and place for replication of strategy

  • Develop thorough knowledge of electoral opportunities in a portfolio of regions

  • Manage a travel schedule that allows for in-person engagement tactics across portfolio

Special Projects (10%)

  • Lead or contribute to team-level, organization-wide, or cross-team special projects as assigned by manager or designee

  • Provide short-term coverage of teams and/or projects during a leave, vacancy, or PTO

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience (If you do not hold a Bachelor’s degree an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required. If you hold an Associate’s degree an additional 2 years of relevant experience is required.)

  • 5+ years relevant professional experience including experience in civic leadership that could include politics/campaigns, policy, advocacy, and/or community organizing

  • Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, prioritize time, and manage implementation of plans in fast-moving, changeable environments

  • Proven ability to build and leverage relationships with diverse audiences and partners

  • Demonstrated track record of effective communication across a complex organizational structure

  • Ability to identify useful metrics and see trends that inform strategy

  • Strong, demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, & inclusion

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team

  • Deep passion for educational equity and belief in LEE’s mission and theory of change

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in facilitating learning opportunities for adults

  • Experience in coaching and recruiting candidates for elected leadership

  • Demonstrated experience effectively working and coaching across lines of difference

Physical Requirements & Work Demands:

  • The person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with staff or access office equipment.

  • The person in this position will need to have the ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities.

  • Occasional evening and/or weekend work is required.

Pay and Benefits

The position level for this role is Director 1 and the corresponding hourly pay range for this position is $40.00-$50.19. Pay is competitive and based upon relevant experience and cost of labor for your location. Note, this is a non-exempt position where employees are eligible for daily and weekly overtime pay.

Temporary staff have access to the following benefits:

  • Retirement: Employees eligible may participate in LEE’s 401(k) retirement plan following 90 days of employment. LEE provides a dollar for dollar match up to 5% of staff’s income. Employer-matched funds vest immediately; there is no waiting period.

  • Sick Leave: 10 days of sick leave, 5 of which can be used for personal reasons, is provided to staff up front at their time of hire and resets at the start of each calendar year.

  • Monthly Virtual Stipend (full-time only): Full-time, temporary staff are provided with a monthly stipend of $100 to cover the day-to-day costs of working virtually.

  • Health Insurance (full-time only): Full-time, temporary staff (those expected to work 30+ hours/week), are eligible to enroll in LEE’s base HSA medical plan through CareFirst. Health insurance benefits take effect on the new hire’s first date of employment.
