The Position:

Panasonic Avionics Corporation is looking for an Associate Events Manager to support our events, exhibits, and demo requests. We are looking for someone who has the ability to assist with a variety of aspects of events, from layout and planning to full production and execution. The Associate Events Manager will assist the Manager, Events & Exhibits in the areas of conceptual, technical, marketing, communication, and project management of live experiences – both internal and external - from intimate gatherings to global conventions.
Events and Exhibit Support
  • Support preplanning for events, including but not limited to executing on goals, conceptualizing the experience, venue selection, qualifying vendors, hotel bookings, and other logistics as needed.
  • Support Coordination of pre/onsite/post event and exhibit and serve as on-site event assistant manager and key point person.
  • Support Manager in show setup, including scheduling, assembly and management; allocate resources on-site, identify potential issues/risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Facilitate and at times lead design for scenic and/or activations, installation & dismantle, logistics & staffing, IT, AV, catering, travel, and more.
  • Create, iterate and distribute event materials such as event surveys, briefs, milestone schedules, floor plans, show flows/scripts, ‘Know Before You Go’ sheets and production schedules to appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Support event budget development, management, and reconciliation. This includes being the liaison with the contractors & vendors as needed, from quote, contract to final payment.
  • Vendor qualification includes building Creative Briefs, RPFs/RFIs, selection, negotiating contracts, and payment throughout.
  • Proactively build and update milestone schedules with internal and external partners to allow adequate time for event-related deliverables.
  • Provide analytics and evaluate all aspects (goals, KPIs, event technology, etc.) of events, with the goal of improving quality as well as cost and time efficiencies.
  • Gather and report on event metrics such as attendance, consumption, and satisfaction.
  • Any other duties a required.
Regional Demo/OEM Galleries
  • Support as needed Demo Rooms/Galleries in HQ, Boeing, Airbus, and others as directed by Manager while working transversally across multiple departments to achieve task.
  • Assist as needed and directed by manager with customer demo requests.
Individual Development and Industry Knowledge
  • Actively seek out and maintain current knowledge of experiential design, virtual events, and production across all industries that Panasonic Avionics Corporation could learn and grow from.
  • Grow and invest in productive and collaborative relationships with internal colleagues and external vendors.
  • Develop individual goals that are measurable and tie into overall team and company goals and initiatives.
  • Support teammates in execution and throughout planning with larger department initiatives and/or events.

The salary wage range of $70,000 – $118,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

  • Experience handling multiple demanding projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in vendor management.
  • Self-motivated to learn and grow further in the area of technology as it relates to online experiences.
  • Impeccable organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong creativity applicable to live and online experiences.
  • Ability to remain productive and positive in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong critical-thinking and logistical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand the big picture with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to protect controlled information.
  • Practiced ability to analyze and resolve problems, organize own work, coordinate projects, multi-task and set priorities.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
  • High School diploma or equivalent working experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience specific to live events with 1,000+ attendees.
  • Knowledge and experience in Event coordination and planning a plus.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet is a plus. 
  • CMP certification is a plus.
  • Expert level of skills in the use of MS office suite of software applications i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
  • Travel requirement: 30% travel may be required.

Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year plus a paid company-wide shut down in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year.
