Role and Scope of Position:
Responsible for the design and engineering of Gas SCADA system applications and remote system components for the Gas Control critical systems infrastructure. Provides quality assurance and control (QA/QC), analysis, testing, deployment, and integration of software systems that will improve the Gas Business organization's safety, reliability and compliance objectives.
This is a hybrid position. The first three months will be full-time in the office
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with internal and external technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on multiple, complex projects providing focused project deliverables (i.e. Safety, customer focus, technology, reliability, design standards, costs and schedule).
- Supports and constructs software components within the SCADA environment that supports Gas Control Real Time Systems' (RTS) safety sensitive, critical systems infrastructure.
- Investment design, engineering, analysis, QA/QC, and approvals for new and upgraded Gas critical asset infrastructure.
- Provides analysis of records review, develops GIS mapping and Bill of Materials specifications. Reviews and analyzes complex Professional Engineering (PE) drawings/files and CAD drawings/files for Gas asset wire frame schematics creation.
- Performs SCADA system database and display design and engineering.
- Performs Corporate Historian PI database and display design and engineering.
- Performs Human Machine Interface (HMI) design and engineering.
- Adheres to Eversource's policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and codes.
- Provides technical and time allocation estimates for business needs and budget forecasting.
- Supports the commitment to Eversource's mission, strategy and values. Provides support or assistance in performing assignments. Coordinates resources required to complete processes or projects.
- Documents Eversource technical components and software operations.
- May be required to work extended hours to support project needs.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- Practical knowledge and experience maintaining, operating and troubleshooting the following systems preferred:
- Software systems:
- OSI PI
- GIS Mapping
- AVEVA OaSyS and ClearSCADA
- MCG OpLog event logging software
- TiPS LogMate alarm management software
- Process controls systems:
- Instrumentation
- Electro-magnetic controls
- Material standards
- Process metering
- Utility constructability
- Knowledge of energy physics processes. Knowledge in the area of energy and energy distribution preferred.
- Knowledge of 49 CRF Part 192 code preferred.
- Ability to read mapping systems and an understanding of gas pressure and flow relationships, remote telemetering, and control.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory criteria, industry codes, and standards applicable to the Gas specific area of expertise.
- Proficient in GIS mapping systems and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word & Visio).
- Knowledge of SharePoint & Power BI
- Knowledge of cyber security and critical systems protocols preferred.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

Compensation and Benefits
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position is $74040.00 to $82270.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in both an office and field environment which requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs or terrain. Job can require lifting/carrying of test equipment, adjusting, connecting, pulling, operating, etc.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT as necessary.
This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.
