Job Description:
Roles & Responsibilities:
Manages, leads and mentors a team of Engineers and Project Managers to deliver on regional and global objectives.
Responsible for identifying and opening new opportunities for the business and maximizing our existing global client base.
Manages relationships with C Level Executives regionally and globally.
Performs significant role in representing DI&I Group at pre-sales activities with clients.
Performs front-end studies and Deep Dives with global clients, consulting with the clients directly on PI System deployment and integration strategies.
Manages the allotted hours of the various engineers, in conjunction with the Project Manager.
Collaborates with the Business Development team to understand potential projects and scope.
Develop, in conjunction with the Delivery Leader, a Business Plan for Region and forecast growth, revenue and resourcing requirements.
Work with both LSMG & AVEVA Business Development teams to define sales strategies for Region in order to support Business Plan.
Understanding of industry trends, product capabilities and customer requirements.
Setting and tracking of KPIs for the team and address challenges when they arise.
Excellent knowledge of SCADA, PLC, OPC, Continuous/Batch Historians, MES systems and DCS Based control systems, including network topology concepts.
Expert understanding of PI Architecture.
24-48 months supporting PI Projects and Systems.
Superior understanding of operational principals of RtReports and has created templates for customer. Where understanding does not exist, has sufficient technical knowledge to become proficient in RtReports in twelve-month period.
Highly competent in implementing, configuring and troubleshooting of OSI PI Interfaces including but not limited to OPC DA, PItoPI, RDBMS, UFL, EMDVB and SISBatch and has successfully implemented within several client projects.
Advanced understanding of how SQL Databases are setup & administered with respect to PI systems, in addition to Oracle installation, query and view structuring.
Ability to write instructions for installation, configuration and troubleshooting of interfaces, in line with our standard and OSI recommendations.
Can develop and design PI Systems and GxP Documentation without supervision.
Drafts Validation document lifecycle, including installation/operational qualification and design specification creation and execution across multiple successful projects, of varying scope.
Provides resourcing estimates and technical configurations, of client quotations, to the Business Development Team.
Coordinates work with vendors and contractors, during project conception and implementation stages.
Carries out all the functions of System Analysts and Software Consultants and provides the necessary Engineering support to teams on customer sites or at Head Office, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Works with clients to understand, agree and implement technical requirements, in conjunction with our Team.
Provides client operational support to the SLA Team and takes responsibility for ensuring System Analysts and Software Consultants have the required support and understanding of their role.
Can manage smaller projects from conception to completion.
Manages Project timelines in conjunction with the PM, ensuring the PM is informed of any potential changes to the project.
Anticipates issues involving quality and timeliness of project deliverables.
Makes decisions regarding implementation, configuration and installation of PI systems on client sites.
Can perform all the work of a System Analyst and Software Consultant.
May receive tasks, duties, technical guidance or learning objectives from the Regional Manager.
May be assigned work by the Project Manager.
May be tasked with providing input for quotations or proposals, to prospective or existing clients, in conjunction with Business Development.
Work is reviewed and evaluated by Regional Manager, with input from the Project Manager and Account Manager.
Comply with ISO 27001 Information Security Management System requirements i.e. perform you work while protecting the confidentiality, availability and integrity of assets from threats and vulnerabilities.
Comply with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements i.e. perform your work according to your process documents, procedures and maintaining document information/completing department forms/records as required.
Understand and apply our quality policy statement in all aspects of your work.
Contribute towards achieving company objectives.
Ensure that the needs and requirements of internal staff and customers are understood and delivered.
Help develop and improve internal processes and management system by reporting corrective actions, updates and improvement ideas.
Other Ad Hoc duties as they arise.
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in IT, Automation, Science or Engineering, or related discipline.
Full clean driving licence for US preferred.
Minimum of 36 months of experience in programming and GxP environment.
Level 100 & 200 OSIsoft PI Accredited preferably.
Travel Requirements:
Note: Lead Engineer Candidate (LEC) is equivalent to Regional Engineering Senior Manager.
In an ideal situation a Lead Engineer Candidate (LEC) is in the strategic region and time zone that places us in the most advantages position to serve our clients. In this case the strategic region would be San Francisco, California and its surrounding 50-mile radius geography. For example, travel to Novota, California, approximately 30 miles away from San Francisco, and travel to Fremont, approximately 45 miles away from San Francisco would be valid travel requests.
If the candidate is unable to be in the strategic region (San Francisco, California) than the situation may be mitigated for if the candidate agrees to and is able to complete the following.
1. The LEC will be available to travel for up to 2-3 weeks to complete Front End Studies. The LEC will typically be given at least a two-week notification prior to the travel request. This is a requirement of all Lead Engineers regardless of their location.
2. The LEC will be available to travel for up to 2-3 weeks to complete in person trainings. The LEC will typically be given at least a two-week notification prior to the travel request. This is a requirement of all Lead Engineers regardless of their location.
3. The LEC will be available to travel for up to 2-3 weeks to attend Strategic Business Meetings. The LEC will typically be given at least a two-week notification prior to the travel request. This is a requirement of all Lead Engineers regardless of their location.
4. The LEC will travel to their strategic region for as many days as are required to complete the required task. The time required to complete the required task will vary depending on the difficulty of the task. It is not possible to determine how often a required task may arise, the LEC must be okay with this ambiguity. A non-exhausted list of required tasks include:
• Integration of new equipment
• Assessment of networks
• Attendance of Key Strategic Meetings for example, kick offs, requirement gathering, closure of feedback loops, document generation agreements.
• Lead Client Trainings.
• Sit in on Sales Calls with potential clients alongside the Business Development Team.
The LEC will typically be given at least a one-week notification for this type of travel.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $110,000- $158,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
