Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Digital Electrical Engineer who can significantly contribute to growth of our existing sensor, communication and ISR systems. To be successful in this position, candidates must be innovative, enjoy learning and expanding their knowledge base, thrive on meeting challenging performance requirements, and have good communication skills to determine customer needs and create winning proposals.

- Leverage cutting-edge SDR and DSP technologies to create novel designs for communication and sensor systems, addressing emerging customer requirements and enhancing U.S. warfighter capabilities.
- Work individually and with systems team to develop and propose competitive solutions for customers that capture new business and achieve overall Company goals and objectives.
- Evaluate system design requirements for existing and new contracts, identifying solutions and risks and supporting the Product Line manager in setting cost and schedule requirements.
- Document system technical requirements and identify critical design, material, and manufacturing performance indicators to establish design control parameters.
- Execute system, hardware, and software/firmware design tasks for communication and sensor systems to meet established technical requirements within cost and schedule constraints.
- Validate designs and models via experimentation. Communicate designs and results to management and customer representatives.
- Serve as Principal Investigator for research and development efforts, to include actively participating in technical business development, monitoring of project technical progress, updating project schedules, and overseeing project budget. Maintain communications with customers through regular reports and technical briefings, both in-person and electronic.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers to enable their personal and professional growth.

Experience and Skills
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
- A proven track record of solving complex RF, microwave, and DSP design challenges in the aerospace/defense industry.
- Proven track record designing, testing, and optimizing electronics and software/firmware for defense communication and sensor systems.
- Proficient at analyzing test results and relating them to design characteristics and manufacturing methods.
- Experience transitioning design ideas to product offerings, including product maturation and design for manufacturability, is a plus.
- Extensive digital hardware and software/firmware experience to include FPGAs, MCUs, and SoC devices and RF modules and their use in embedded, low-power systems and SDR platforms. Familiarity with Verilog and C programming and communications protocols such as BLE, I2C, and SPI is a plus.
- Experience writing, winning, and successfully executing contracts and grants with the DoD and Defense Prime Contractors. Previous relationships with Defense Prime Contractor and DoD SMEs is a plus.
- Team player with ability to influence and motivate others.
- Experience managing small design teams is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders, document and present results, analyses, and design efforts.
- Ability to travel, as required, to prospective and existing customer and vender facilities, conferences, and trade shows.
Education
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years’ relevant experience, or M.S. degree with 15+ years’ relevant experience
