Job Description
- Promote quality achievement throughout the organization by developing and implementing improvement strategies to the QMS.
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation (ex: ITAR, RoHS, Frank-Dodd, & conflict minerals).
- Draft, maintain, and implement policies and procedures, making certain they are properly understood, carried out, and evaluated.
- Provide new employee orientation and mentorship in the areas of metrology and QMS policies/procedures as they relate to each employee's job description. Provide on-going support to production staff as needed.
- Run the day-to-day operation of the QC department while developing/implementing QA policies and procedures and managing the Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO Program.
- Monitor quality of suppliers of finished goods, subcontractors of specialty operations, and all outside processing vendors, maintaining an Approved Supplier List.
- Assist with first piece inspections, completing and submitting PPAP documentation to customers and generating AS9102 FAI Reports.
- Establish standards of services for customers (i.e. on-time delivery, quality performance, etc.)
- Liaise with ISO certification body (TUV) and customer auditors to ensure compliance, and when necessary, implement corrective action.
- Assist in analysis to identify root cause(s) of part, process, and service non-conformance(s); where appropriate, develop corrective actions to mitigate and prevent recurrence. Work with other managers and direct labor to support reduction of errors and improve quality outcomes.
- Schedule and direct internal, surveillance, and recertification audits.
- Monitor performance of the QMS by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
- Manage and maintain the company's instrument calibration program.
- Participate in weekly management team meetings, with special attention to quality systems and continuous improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, and technological advances applicable in the Quality Assurance field.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3-5 years of quality department experience in a CNC machining facility
- Training in ISO 9001, ASME Y14.5 certification CQE, experience with AS9100 a plus
- Expert knowledge of CMM and digital vision systems with the ability to program this equipment
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Due to our government-contracted work/ITAR, all applicants must be permanent legal residents or US citizens (Cannot supply H1B visa)
