Title: Associate Director, Commercial Analytics
Reports To:
Executive Director, Commercial Analytics
Location: Redwood City, California
Classification: Exempt


Position Summary:

The Associate Director, Commercial Analytics is responsible for designing and executing insights-driven analytics to inform decision-making, drive product performance, and support launch of new products. This individual will report to Executive Director, Commercial Analytics and is a key member of the Commercial Analytics organization. Analytical, problem solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of internal stakeholders' data and analytical needs.
  • Deliver insights to inform strategic decisions and support execution:
    • Deliver physician, patient, managed care, competitive and economic insights based on analytics generated by leveraging multiple data sources, including physician and patient level data. Integrate and synthesize information to report subnational insights to internal stakeholders.
    • Leverage custom and syndicated data sets to identify and address key business issues relative to product and indication-level performance ensuring that multiple stakeholder perspectives are considered. Bridge the gap between new patient starts and total demand and integrate and synthesize all available information specific to the issue.
    • Understand sub-national drivers of cross-brand performance, providing more granularity to performance dynamics across distribution channels and customers.
    • Leverage innovative, sophisticated analytic models that address critical issues but also meet key business criteria (e.g. cost, risk, business impact) and key technical criteria (e.g. reliability, validity, and predictability).
    • Support field force strategy through outputs of sales analysis and insights generation, national and sub-national reporting, KPI development and tracking/monitoring, call plan development, targeting, alignment and segmentation work, sales force size and structure work, promotion response analysis, etc. and other commercial effectiveness initiatives.
    • Monitor commercial performance for senior management and executives, including Board of Directors meetings, earnings call, and deep dive business review.
    • Evaluate, assess, and analyze data necessary to support Market Access strategy development and payer account team’s information needs.
    • Support field activities.
    • Develop customer quarterly business review materials.
    • Manage inquiries from sales colleagues, initiate data investigation.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data and deliverables.
  • Tests and deploys new analytical capabilities for the business.
  • Monitors the external environment to stay up to date on leading analytic capabilities, both within and outside of pharma, which can be applied within the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across brand teams, Market Access, Forecasting, Sales Operations, Contracting, Finance, and data management functions to support project implementations, business process changes, and operational consistency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in Business, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance) required, with a concentration in quantitative analysis. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years working in pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the capability to appropriately define issues, questions, and data; to comprehend qualitative and quantitative methods to perform accurate analysis.
  • Experience in “buy-and-bill” market analytics.
  • Working knowledge and in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical data and various data sources (i.e. IQVIA, Symphony Health, Payer data, formulary data, other claims and EMR data systems).
  • Creative in approach to problem solving. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgement and to determine if overall results and objectives have been achieved
  • Experience working with large complex data and corresponding query/ programming languages such as SAS, Alteryx, R, Python, or SQL.
  • Intellectually curious, high energy, and strong work ethic; passionate about synthesizing large amounts of data into actionable insights.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a consultative mindset, with the ability to develop strong partnerships and influence without authority.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; including describing complex data topics in simple terms.
  • Start-up experience is a plus.

The Base Salary Range for this position is $165,000 - $190,000. Coherus considers various factors, including professional background and work experience, when determining base pay. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
