SalaryThe Associate Director, Audience Development will shepherd organizational innovation to develop a much broader audience. This position will continually strive to reach new audiences and use data-driven decision making to drive success. The incumbent will coordinate cross-departmental resources in this work on a day-to-day basis, will plan and execute campaigns designed to achieve audience goals. The Associate Director has supervisory responsibility for the work of the Engagement Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide the development and execution of impactful and sustained campaigns to nurture existing audiences and drive new ones— especially more diverse audiences.
- Lead an audience-focused organization; advance audience knowledge and engagement; inform content creation; support revenue generation; oversee research and data collection.
- Increase awareness and heighten audience engagement and loyalty of JAX donors.
- Develop audience strategy by working with internal stakeholders to define the target audience and develop marketing briefs.
- Plan and execute campaigns designed to achieve audience goals by leveraging multiple platforms and channels.
- Oversee all campaign activity to ensure timely delivery and measurable results.
- Build plans that drive measurable audience growth from target segments.
- Ensure that creative, message, language and voice are consistent across all platforms.
- Develop and implement plans for audience retention strategies, using resources of direct mail, email, social media to enable conversations by phone, online, and in person that advance individuals along their donor journey.
- Manage and support direct report’s focused on creating a development plan, providing mentorship, and identifying professional training opportunities. Oversee all hiring and onboarding.
- Monitor the budget for Audience Development resources and inform recommendations to ensure budget maximization.
- Manages time and attendance, performance evaluations, and other administrative duties of a manager.
- Maintains a positive working environment that encourages collaboration and open communication among team members and other colleagues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience; preference will be given to candidates with professional or educationally equivalent experience
- Significant relevant experience and a successful track record of growing and cultivating diverse audiences and achieving measurable audience or subscriber goals.
- Expertise with Raiser’s Edge.
- Experience planning and executing marketing campaigns and accompanying budgets
- Email marketing expertise, Google analytics and HTML experience preferred.
- Deep proficiency testing, digesting and synthesizing data to turn it into actionable insights for stakeholders across the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and transparently across teams and job functions, with an eye toward solutions and building buy-in.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent judgment – leadership, brand creative, partnerships and messaging.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of nonprofit philanthropy.
Pay Range: $73,305 - $122,730 based on total years of prior related experience
