The Associate Director for Fraternity andSorority Life (FLS) and Programming is responsible for leadership development, organizational management, and general administration for the Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations and key student engagement programs within the Center of Student Engagement Leadership and Orientation. This position will create intentional programs, and provide assessment metrics to increase the guidance, development, and support for all the FSL organizations and Programming. This role will also work collaboratively with the rest of the CSELO team and campus partners to improve processes and encourage growth within the undergraduate FSL organizations.

You will:
Advisory and Assessment
  • Responsible for oversight of the Panhellenic Council, Independent Greek Council, Multicultural Greek Council and Inter Greek Council
  • Monitor new members recruitment and programs and advise other student groups and councils as guided by the Executive Director of CSLEO.
  • Evaluate and maintain the yearly chapter review process, including monitoring compliance with the University of New Haven Code of Conduct and Recognize Student Organization policies and procedures.
  • Partners with the Executive Director in working with student leaders within FSL community to develop and administer ongoing education programs that promote responsible membership, citizenship, and chapter management.
  • Creates and implements educational opportunities for individual chapters and leaders of FSL organizations, including the development and delivery of comprehensive education and training programs regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion, hazing prevention, risk management, social event management, and overall chapter development.
  • Coordinate various training programs for recruitment and accreditation.
  • Manage the Fraternity and Sorority Life budget
  • Responsible for the implantation of the recruitment process for the Fraternity and Sorority Life community
  • Develop a process that keeps FSL advisors engaged and informed.

Program Development and Coordination
  • Partner with the Associate Director of Programming in working with student leaders to develop and administer ongoing education regarding program planning and implementation.
  • Assist with the planning, implementing and assessment of CSELO (Center for Student Engagement, Leadership, and Orientation) key campus wide events, including, but not limited to Welcome Week, Family Day, Holiday Fest, Snowball, Midnight Breakfast and New Student Orientation SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration).
  • Supervise the CSELO student employees which includes Bartels Information Desk, Bergami Game room, Office Assistants, and graduate interns.
  • Provide rotation coverage for evening and weekend events and activities to ensure compliance
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation.

You Have:
  • Master's degree in higher education, student development or similar field
  • Knowledge of contemporary higher education principles, practices, and procedures
  • 3+ years professional experience in programming, Fraternity and Sorority life, student affairs, student activities or similar field
  • Knowledge and/or experience with planning, implementing, and assessing student programs required.
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 products required
  • Understanding of web-based higher education software such as Anthology/Campus Labs Engage and Baseline, Slate, and Banner preferred
  • Understanding of learning management software such as Canvas preferred
  • Understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter preferred
