Associate, Designer - Men's - Joe's Jeans

Specific Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for all of Joe's Men's denim development and will help support the ready to wear designer in seasonal development. The Associate Designer is responsible for creating and updating all denim sketches and tech packages from development through production including construction sketches to guide our manufacturing partners as they construct garments. This individual will work hand in hand with our Senior Designer, wash team, and Technical Designers to perfect fit and finalize the garment from development to production stages.

 

Responsibilities include:

• Strong sketching skills needed.
• Seasonal sketching with Senior Designer.
• Create/update all Tech Pack Construction Sketches.
• Strong garment construction knowledge needed.
• Attend all fittings with Senior Designer.
• Participate in fittings to problem solve and execute revisions.
• Take all notes and photographs for documentation in every fitting.
• Collaborate and work daily with merchandising team to make any necessary updates to the assortment and partner with to create presentation/meeting documents
• Work closely with Senior Designer/Design Director and our manufacturing partners to achieve the desired construction and fit results.
• Collaborate directly with factories as well as partner with Product Development and Production teams to answer technical questions and solve problems.
• Ensure size, fit, construction, and quality consistency.
• Update Seasonal Sketch Decks, Seasonal Line Masters, Sample Notification Logs.
• Participate in seasonal style validation meetings.

Skills and Requirements

• Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in PLM / FlexPLM / FlexPTC (Product Lifecycle Management)
• Experience in Technical pack creation / management
• Experience in Illustrator AI
• Experience in Photoshop Ps
• Experience in InDesign Id
• Experience in creating CAD artwork / sketching / masking
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge / Experience in product development 
• Knowledge / Experience in color theory / able to see and make color comments
• Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for apparel business and ability to work effectively as a team player.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail.
• Experience working with factories throughout the world.
• Must understand the brand filters and relate to our overall design aesthetic.
• Must demonstrate an elevated taste level and considered aesthetic
• 3-5 years of denim design/wash or related experience.

Salary Range: $70,000-85,000
