Job Description:
Farmingdale State College, a campus of the State University of New York, invites applications for the position of Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. This is the largest of the four Schools at the College and is made up of 13 departments, many of which offer Liberal Arts and General Education courses that support the curricula across the college. The Associate Dean works collaboratively with the Dean to support the work of the academic departments and plays an integral role in advancing the School's initiatives. Responsibilities of the Associate Dean include, but are not limited to: mentoring of new faculty, addressing both faculty and student concerns, facilitating faculty growth, monitoring accreditation reports, monitoring internship and practicum sites, developing articulation agreements, building community relations and participating in campus-wide events.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in a discipline of study offered by the School of Arts & Sciences.
- Exceptional record of teaching, scholarship and service to meet tenure requirements within one of the school's academic areas.
- Administrative experience at the level of department chair or higher.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grant writing experience.
