Job Description
Primary Functions
The Associate Dean is responsible for assisting and supporting the culture department, which includes MS/HS Deans and Associates Deans, and executing the vision of the Director of Culture with implementing the expectations and norms of conduct as they relate to the safety, behavior, and discipline of the students.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Under the supervision and guidance of the Director of Culture the Associate Dean:
Assists in the safety and well-being of the students
Maintain and monitor safety and order by being accessible and visible in hallways, classrooms, during arrival/dismissal of students, lunch periods, after school programs, Reflection Lab, detention, etc.
Collaborate with the culture team to ensure consistency and discipline across the school
Meet with Director of Culture to discuss school wide issues, trends, and upcoming events
Follow and enforce the guidelines presented in the Dr. Izquierdo Charter Schools Scholar Handbook
Ensure a high achievement culture
Maintain databases and up to date student information on attendance, discipline and records
Model and promote positive discipline behavior
Complete any other tasks or duties as assigned by Head of School, Director of School Culture, and the Leadership Team

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, or on-track
Minimum of two to three years of related experience
Bilingual/Spanish a plus
Minimum of two to three years of related experience working in an urban school
Successful experience working in a diverse educational setting
Successful experience in communicating with parents and students
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This position is full-time, and the hours and workdays are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 to 4:00 pm unless the school will host a school event in which staff is expected to stay and or the school is running any afterschool activities.
Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000
Travel: Limited to no travel required
