Description:

Reporting to the Dean of the NOAH Scholars Program, the Associate Dean plays a crucial role in the management and administration of the program. The Associate Dean will supervise budget management, counseling, student recruitment, program planning, staff training, and evaluation, all aimed at fostering the success and expansion of the NOAH Scholars Program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts meetings with students to discuss their academic progress, tutoring needs, and any necessary program adjustments, and prepares and delivers bi-weekly reports to the Dean.
  • Works collaboratively to develop, maintain, and implement NOAH policies and procedures related to advising, retention, and other academic support initiatives.
  • Coordinates and oversees all aspects of the counseling component, ensuring its effective implementation and providing written reports to the Dean.
  • Leads the planning, organizing, and executing of all facets of the NOAH Summer Program.
  • Actively contributes to the implementation and advancement of new initiatives within the NOAH Scholars Program.
  • Engages in ongoing recruitment efforts throughout the year to attract NOAH students, advocating for the program’s mission and benefits.
  • Attends relevant conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
  • Collaborates with the Dean on long-term planning and program evaluation to drive enhancements.
  • Coordinates major program projects as assigned by the Dean, ensuring their timely and successful completion.
  • Represents the NOAH Scholars Program at networking events and serve on university committees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in advising and counseling, preferably within higher education or related academic settings, working with diverse populations.
  • Full availability during June through August for preparation and participation in the NOAH Summer Program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Ellucian Banner, Navigate, Canvas, and Slate.
  • Strong skills in quantitative analysis, presentation, and communication, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Experience in developing, coordinating, and conducting workshops, events, and programs for students.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in related field preferred.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in student programming, development, coordination, workshop facilitation, and event management within a higher education setting.
  • Bilingual candidates a plus.
