Brief Job Description
Internal applications are being accepted for the position of Associate Dean in the School of Professions. This is an internal job posting open to employees of SUNY Buffalo State who are currently paid from any state-appropriated-funds payroll.
This calendar-year Management/Confidential position reports to the Dean of the School of Professions.
· Represent SOP on various campus committees and work groups
· Reports to the Dean on areas to include SOP course schedule, curriculum revisions, program creation, program review, and catalog oversight as well as liaison for general education assessment
· Serve as resource for faculty development to include participation in new faculty orientation
· Serve as point person for SOP probation and dismissal processes
· Teach one course each semester
· Represents SOP on the commencement committee
· Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
· Record of successful, ongoing teaching, scholarship, and service to the university
· Ability to professionally represent the dean and the SOP within the university and in the community
· Successful administrative experience and demonstrated leadership capability
· Excellence in attention to detail and organizational, communication, administrative, and technology skills
· Ability to model collegiality, work as a team member, and demonstrate initiative and commitment to the SOP and Buffalo State mission, vision, and values
· A Master’s degree or higher and progressively responsible experience in academic administration, the latter also should be combined with scholarly pursuits in an academic field.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and program review
· Experience with academic advisement
